‘Broke The Democrats’: McCarthy Says Democrats’ Downfall Gives GOP Opportunity To Court Key Voting Blocs

Former Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said on Fox News on Monday that the Democrat downfall could give Republicans the opportunity to bring major voting blocks to justice for upcoming elections, including young voters and Hispanics.

Post-election polls starting in November 2024 show that President Donald Trump gained support among once-trusted Democratic bases, including black and Hispanic men. On “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Watters asked McCarthy about the opportunity Democrats believe Republicans have struggled to find a unified message and leader before the mid-term elections. “Well, all you’re looking at is not just President Trump wins the election. He actually beat Democrats. Think about this. Democrats are currently protesting electric vehicles. They’re the view of the minority in the Supreme Court. They can’t stop legislation, but this is an important part,” McCarthy said.

“A young population, Gen Z is probably one of the most conservative generations since the ’80s, and is not only a pro-trump, but also an anti-democrat. The Hispanic population will become Republicans. Then look at the future,” added McCarthy. “There are only three Republicans sitting in the house Harris carried. Eight years ago there were 23. That’s a bad Senate map for Democrats.”

Before the 2024 election, the New York Times/Siena University poll Showed Trump leads former vice president Kamala Harris among former Z men, between 58% and 37%, and Harris is behind younger male voters despite leading among women of the generation.

McCarthy went on to say that it is not only “impossible” for Democrats to win the 2028 general election, but they will not “wake up” to the fact that their policies are a problem for voters.

“Then electoral colleges, their liberal policies make people come out of these blue states. You said that, it’s almost impossible for Democrats to win the presidency. “They haven’t woken up yet. They don’t realize their policies are making people crazy.”

A recent CNN/SSRS poll released on March 12 said Democrats have fallen 20 points, falling to a 29% lowest support rating since January 2021. Some Democrats have tried to warn the party about policy, but Democrats’ National Committee Chairman Ken Martin said it wasn’t the party’s issues themselves, not the party’s issues themselves, but the “messaging” and “branding.”
