On Thursday, former Auburn University head coach Bryan Harsin cited a tweet from 2021 alleging his stance on vaccinations was costing his team practice time.
“To be clear, Coach Bryan Harsin's vaccine confusion is costing the team valuable practice time during fall training. On top of that, his refusal to promote the vaccine is dividing the fan base and putting public health at risk,” AL.com's Joe Goodman tweeted in August 2021.
Now far removed from his head coaching position at Auburn, Harsin spoke to The X on Thursday about the comments:
Stories like this by local “journalists” undermine trust in the media – not one of the points can be substantiated, the whole thing is entirely opinion based. Dishonest and unprofessional. https://t.co/bJ8a4d3LOO

“Such reports by local 'journalists' undermine trust in the media. Not a single point is substantiated and everything is entirely opinion-based. This is dishonest and unprofessional,” he said.
In his second vaccine-related social media activity in the past day, Harsin retweeted a story about a Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman who suffered a seizure and went into cardiac arrest during practice.
breaking news: #Chiefs All activities for today were canceled after a backup defensive lineman suffered a seizure during a meeting and went into cardiac arrest.
Medical staff responded immediately and an ambulance was called, and the player's condition is currently stable.

Harsin, who received $15.3 million in a buyout deal from Auburn after one of the most disastrous tenures in recent SEC history, doesn't seem in much of a rush to return to coaching other than to tweet his opinions.
