Bud Light Sales Collapse Over July 4th Holiday

According to industry data, Bud Light’s sales dropped significantly over the July 4 holiday period as the boycott continued.

Bud Light’s sales fell 23.6% in the week ending July 8 compared to 2022 levels, according to Nielsen IQ dollar sales data provided to The Daily Caller by Bump Williams Consulting. Sales of Budweiser, another Anheuser-Busch brand, were down 6.6% in the week ending July 8 and down 10.7% in the four weeks ending July 8, sales data showed. there is Rival beer brands Coors Light and Miller Light saw sales increase 30.2% and 25.3% respectively in the week ending July 8. Modelo Especial’s sales for the same period he increased by 20.7%.

The boycott of Bud Light began in early April after transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney posted an ad promoting the brand on social media. Mulvaney, who identifies as a biological male and transgender woman, received a custom beer can from Bud Light to celebrate her first anniversary as a transgender.

The boycott of Bud Light intensified after Bud Light’s head of marketing, Alyssa Heinerscheidt, unearthed defamatory comments about the brand’s “grumpy” and “out of the ordinary” image. Heinerscheidt and another marketing executive were later fired for their partnership with Mulvaney, The Daily Caller first reported.

Anheuser-Busch is trying to win back customers with a summer marketing campaign featuring NFL stars, concerts, giveaways and the mascot “Bud Knight.” The company’s U.S. CEO, Brendan Whitworth, declined to say in a late June interview whether Bud Light made a mistake partnering with Mulvaney.

A transgender influencer accused Anheuser-Busch of abandoning him after the Bud Light boycott began. Anheuser-Busch reiterated his commitment to the LGBT community to Mulvaney.
