Budding artists can apply to Namingha Institute | News

FLAGSTAFF, Arizona — Led by Hopi-Tewa artists Dan and Arlo Naminga, the Naminga Institute Master Classes will provide early-career artists with a two-week residency learning experience. The Institute is a paid residency running from April 27 to May 11, 2025 at the Museum of Northern Arizona (MNA) in Flagstaff.

The program is open to all artists over the age of 18. Applications must be submitted by January 13, 2025.

Supported by the Philip M. Smith Trust, each year the residency provides selected artists with a challenging and stimulating environment to explore their artistic interests through a variety of media. During the residency, students have the opportunity to work with master artists, tour MNA's Easton Collection Center, and be inspired by the beauty and diversity of the Colorado Plateau.

Residents will stay in rustic cabins near the studio and will receive a $1,500 stipend. For more information, contact MNA Education Manager Sacha Siskonen at NaminghaInstitute@musnaz.org or (928) 774-5211 ext. 217.
