Caleb Williams Just Declared For The Draft

Caleb Williams, the highly touted junior quarterback at the University of Southern California (USC), announced Monday afternoon that he is declaring for the NFL Draft.

“Since I was 10 years old, all I ever wanted to do was play football. Without the people who supported me and loved me, that journey would be empty. Forever Fight On and represent Hornsdown4Life. I'm ready to do whatever it takes. I officially declare for the NFL Draft,” Williams tweeted.

First of all, it's hilarious that he randomly took a shot at Texas for no reason while he was in the midst of accomplishing the greatest feat of his career. For the uninitiated, “Hornsdown4Life” refers to the Texas Longhorns celebrating with a horn-down gesture on the field.

Williams also posted a video of late Lakers star Kobe Bryant (rest in peace) explaining his 1996 decision to give up college ball and go straight from high school to the NBA.

“I want to learn how to be the best basketball player in the world, and if I'm going to learn that, I want to learn from the best,” Bryant said in the video. “Kids go to school to become doctors, lawyers, etc. and that's where they study and that's where they study. Where I study is the best school,” Mamba concluded. .

Now that Williams has been declared a draft pick, he will no doubt be studying with the best players. Widely considered the favorite to hear his name called with the first overall selection, Williams is the most hyped college prospect since Andrew Luck in 2012 and perhaps John Elway in 1983. I'm a player.

In recent weeks, some draft analysts have disagreed, predicting North Carolina's Drake Maye and Louisiana State's Jayden Daniels to be the No. 1 picks. Majority I still think it's going to be Williams, and I think so too. (Related: Matthew Stafford appears to suffer head injury, but will not be out of game)

The big question is who will take him. The Chicago Bears are keeping the No. 1 pick as a result of last year's absolute steal, and are trading the No. 1 pick this year and stud wide receiver DJ Moore for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. was traded to the Carolina Panthers. After Carolina finished with a league-worst record of 2 wins and 15 losses, the pick sent to Chicago became the No. 1 overall pick.

But Chicago already has a very good QB in Justin Fields. Chicago fans are wondering what direction they want their franchise to take. Many believe they should trade out of the slot again and select a receiver to ride with Fields and give him another weapon.

One Bears fan wrote an open letter to general manager Ryan Pauls imploring him to bring in standout Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

“Dear Poles, please trade some picks and draft MHJ instead of Caleb Williams. City wants Fields and MHJ is the best prospect of the last decade. . If Caleb Williams comes to Chicago, he'll be in a worse bed than my great aunt who took Miralax,” a Bears fan tweeted.

Still, some are hoping for a fresh start with Williams.

“Looking at his performance, it makes sense that Ryan Pauls would pick Caleb Williams, who is projected to be the best prospect in years,” another fan tweeted.
