WASHINGTON — Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) was injured in the line of duty while visiting Luxembourg with a bipartisan Congressional delegation and was hospitalized for evaluation, a spokeswoman said.
“The Honorable Pelosi is currently receiving excellent care from doctors and medical professionals,” her spokesperson Ian Crager wrote. in a statement. “She continues to work and regrets that she will not be able to participate for the remainder of the term.” [congressional delegation] It is an effort to honor the bravery of military personnel in one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history. ”
The visit to Luxembourg commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Krager wrote that Mr. Pelosi was honored to accompany the delegation, many of whom had family members who fought in World War II, including her uncle Johnny.
