This law has not yet been adopted, but progressing Through the Iraqi parliament. And there is no reason to think that countries ruled by Stone Age barbarians will not go there. Now, I’m not going to descend to the level of hacking necessary to lay the blame at the feet of the American left. But this is a fundamentally liberal project, one that not only celebrates vastly different cultures, but also recognizes how those cultures fit into our social views and recognize our own “universal” moral views. The fund is provided in the hope that it will be realized. Since 2015, the liberal assholes at the State Department have funnel-shaped Approximately $3.5 billion of taxpayers’ money goes to Iraq for “humanitarian and development assistance,” including aid to “vulnerable and marginalized groups” and “promoting women’s education.” Will all that blood and treasure be used just to wind back the clock on the child bride?
In reality, our values are not universal, they are clearly a by-product of Western Judeo-Christian culture, and cannot simply be transplanted to the Islamic world. There’s a lesson here. No amount of cash can ever make Iraqi women burn their bras, nor can Iraqi men consider their “toxic masculinity.” Liberals (both the progressive left and the neoconservative right) must accept that Baghdad will never be Berkeley. All they are doing is funding the exploitation of women and children, which is exactly what they claim to be against.
