The president of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) chapter in Calgary, Canada, has been charged with anti-Catholic hate crimes, according to the Calgary Herald.
BLM Calgary Chapter President Adra Nuwofor blocked access to St. Thomas Aquinas School on May 26. according to Tuesday’s report. Nwofor was indicted on June 2 for mischief, the media reported, citing court records.

The social activist is accused of “deliberately obstructing and obstructing” admission to a facility “used primarily for religious worship and educational purposes,” according to a Calgary Herald report. BLM chapter leaders allegedly blocked admissions “because of prejudice, prejudice and hatred based on race or ethnic origin.”
Authorities released the activist on no-cash bail on June 2 and told him to stay no more than 100 meters (about 328 feet) from campus grounds to avoid contacting school officials, the newspaper said.
Nuwarfor is an ardent advocate for abortion rights and reportedly helped organize protests in May 2022 after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health ruling leaked. . The activist was concerned that changes to American abortion rights would affect access to abortion procedures for Canadian women.
