‘Can’t Have Any Bad Eggs’: Nikki Haley Says FBI Needs ‘Serious Overhaul’ To Restore Americans’ Trust

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley spoke about the FBI and Director Christopher Wray on Wednesday’s episode of “The Magin’ Kelly Show.”

Haley said the American public has lost faith in the FBI. During Ray’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee earlier that day, he argued that lawmakers should have pursued him more aggressively.

“He owes us a lot of answers,” said Haley. Said Kelly pointed out that Wray was a “lifelong” Republican and was appointed head of the FBI by former President Donald Trump.

“What’s the theory that he’s anti-Republican? Why would Chris Ray stand up for Joe Biden?” Kelly asked. “Will the internal FBI problems be solved by removing Chris Ray, as you said you would if you were elected president?” (Related: FBI Director Ray Didn’t Give Pro-Abortion Democrats The Answers They Wanted)

“I don’t think Chris Ray should be the only one fired,” Haley replied. “That means I think we need to remove all senior management.”

Haley reflected on her experiences changing heads of agencies while serving as Governor of South Carolina. She said “problem children” were eviscerated from each agency to increase its effectiveness.

“This agency is going to need a serious overhaul just because the whole mission is in jeopardy,” she said of the FBI.

Haley told Kelly that the FBI needs to reorient itself and understand that “politics should not be involved in our intelligence services.”

“When it comes to our national security, they’ve missed a lot of things they should have known and recognized,” Haley continued. “I also question the way they gather information from overseas threats. I think it was because I was too preoccupied with it.”

Haley argued that Wray should be removed from office because the FBI had “lost confidence”. The former U.N. ambassador said anyone within the agency who tackled issues related to the Biden family, gun ownership and Catholicism should be removed.

“We need to go and say, ‘Everyone involved in this case must be eliminated.’ There can be no bad eggs in this. We are this proxy.” We have to rebuild the store to the point where we can trust it again,” Haley said.

“Christopher Wray may be a perfectly fine man…but that’s not the point of this issue. It’s about the trust of the American people,” she added.
