How does Major League Baseball make this happen?
St. Louis Cardinals Right Fielder Jordan Walker It’s been shut down for At least a week After the MLB star injured in his left knee after he stepped on the sprinkler?

The Cardinals’ former top prospects had an MRI that showed no structural damage, but his knee showed signs of irritation.
“What is that,” Cardinals manager Oliver Malmoll told the media on Wednesday. “We calm it down for a week and then back up the baby. [spring training] game. ”
Things fell in two innings during Wednesday’s spring training game Cactus Park Between the Cardinals and the Washingtonians. Following the fly ball, Walker stepped into the sprinkler’s head, his knee twisting in the process. He was then taken out of the game.

I’m not a spring training field and the field is not an MLB level field, but how is maintenance on this particular field bad to the point where the sprinklers stick out in the middle of the game? And while we’re in it, are players injured?
