According to a press release, construction will begin this week to permanently bridge the gap along the Arizona-Mexico border.

White. After months of asking House to fix this issue, I’m glad that construction has finally begun to permanently fill these gaps in Yuma. There is still work to be done to ensure a safe and humane border response, and I will continue to work to ensure that the administration is listening to the needs of Arizona’s border communities. I will continue to lobby the Administration to expedite the completion of this project,” said Senator Mark Kelly.
All in all, the announcement comes as Kerry and other U.S. Senators tour the Gap on Tuesday as part of a two-day Visit the US-Mexico border.
