Katy Perry, Gale King and Lauren Sanchez were among a group of women embarked on Monday on an incredibly overwhelming space trip.
In the famous launch, a celebrity crew literally left the globe wearing gorgeous, super feminine outfits. However, despite the hype, the mission did not meet expectations. For one thing, the entire trip lasted only 11 minutes. And for fans hoping to get a glimpse of the adventure, the experience inside the rocket has not even been broadcast, and they wonder what the point of this much-anticipated event was.

Van Horn, Texas – April 14: Blue Origin’s new Shepherd Rocket carrying astronauts Aisha Bow, Amandangin, Kerian Neuflin, Gale King, Katy Perry and Lauren Sanchez will be lifted from the release site on April 14, 2025 in Van Horn, Texas. The Blue Origin’s Mission NS-31 is the first female astronaut crew since 1963.
The launch of Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin was broadcast live, but it showed general footage that was far from the breathtaking adventure it was made. All women’s spaceflight ended in 11 minutes, and the famous faces on board were actually just those internationally recognized as space for a total of four minutes.
Perry made history by becoming the first pop star to go to space. She reportedly sang in space while on board the ship… but somehow she was not captured on camera or released for the world to see.
Instead of giving the fans to talk, they simply talked about what happened.
Gale King appeared on camera after returning home and said that reporters Perry sang the song. “When I returned to my seat after Zero-G, Katy sang ‘What a Wonderful World’,” King said in a video shared on X.

Someone needs to explain why he decided not to air footage of Perry blowing away the song while in space. That would be more interesting than watching the rocket disappear into the clouds.
Sadly, to summarise this spaceflight, it seems that in fact the most dramatic moment happened on the ground.
There are plenty of footage showing Oprah being shed tears while watching her friend embark on spaceflight. Her expressions made for Hollywood were clearly more interesting than typical rocket footage.

When Perry returned from an incredibly short space trip, it was immediately skeptical of the lack of interior footage – she fell on her knees and kissed the ground, and eventually gave the camera something to grab the image.
We’ve all seen Perry walking on the planet – this wasn’t the footage that most of us wanted.
Similarly, Bezos’ fiancee could not be entertained with footage of this amazing experience. Instead of capturing a trip to space at a famous girl’s club, she shared a video of the woman in the simulator on her Instagram Stories.
If this space mission was intended to promote sales of future flights, it is a clear flop. (Related: Former astronauts are visibly provoked when CBS reporters simply use the term “humanity”)
Producer Kerianne Flynn and scientists Aisha Bowe and Amanda Nguyễn were among the other women on a space mission that they had miserably not entertained.
