Chad Stahelski Wants To Try His Hand At Directing ‘Star Wars’ Film

Director Chad Stahelski revealed in a podcast released on January 1 that he has set his sights on a new cinematic universe, Star Wars.

The acclaimed director of the “John Wick'' series expressed interest in directing a “Star Wars'' movie in an interview with Josh Horowitz.happy sad confused” Podcast. “I'm a 'Star Wars' guy, and the first 'Star Wars' changed my life,” Stahelski told Horowitz. “Maybe it'll come out one day. Mr. Disney, if you're listening, contact me in a few years and we'll have some takes on Star Wars.”

Furthermore, the director's interests were not limited to the Star Wars series. He also expressed interest in another Disney franchise. “Of all the things in the world, I would give the Blade a shot right away,” Stahelski said.

While his Star Wars ambitions are set for the future, Stahelski is currently focused on expanding the John Wick universe. “We're currently working on developing a 'John Wick' TV series, and Lionsgate has been very enthusiastic about supporting us. When all the strikes happened, we got down to the nitty-gritty.” We were just getting started…Hopefully, we can bring back some of the people we love in this TV series,” the director further said.

Stahelski previously worked as a stunt double for John Wick star Keanu Reeves on The Matrix, and was also credited as the series' stunt coordinator.

Stahelski was also the stunt coordinator for The Expendables 2 in 2012, when stuntman Kun Liu was killed in an explosion on set. Stahelski was sued by Liu's family after the incident.
