Children’s Museum of Yuma County celebrates one year anniversary

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The Children's Museum of Yuma County is a place where kids can have fun and let their imaginations run wild.

And this weekend the museum is looking forward to celebrating its anniversary.

Children can have fun at the museum through a variety of play exhibits and art spaces.

“We want them to make family memories here, that's why we're here,” said Operations and Education Manager Christine Bryant. “They're going to learn, they're going to play, they're going to create art. They're going to be able to do whatever their heart desires here, and we hope they're going to make family memories too.”

Christine has worked at the museum since before it opened and said celebrating its first anniversary is special.

“It's been great to see how hard we work as a staff and to personally help bring this project together,” Christine said.

One parent spoke about the joy the museum brings to their family.

“It makes life a lot easier because I don't have any grandparents here in town. I don't have any relatives in town so when we come here they know him and they treat us so well so it honestly feels like family so it's been a really big blessing honestly,” Heather Castelo said.

Come to downtown Yuma this weekend from 12pm to 4pm to celebrate the museum's birthday.
