Authorities on Friday ordered a Chinese national to be held on trespassing charges after he allegedly tried to break into President-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago mansion.
Police arrested Zijie Li, a 39-year-old Chinese national, who arrived at the gate of the property by Uber on Thursday. According to To the Associated Press. Mr. Lee violated a specific court order not to enter the premises after previously attempting to do so.
Lee, who was living in a Los Angeles suburb on a student visa, was found near Mar-a-Lago and had recently been released from a psychiatric hospital where he had been admitted in late October, the Associated Press reported. He currently faces two misdemeanor counts of trespassing.

Mr. Lee’s arrest is part of a trend of security violations involving Mr. Trump, including a near-fatal shooting at a Pennsylvania rally in July and an alleged attempted incident in September. assassin Targeted Trump International Golf Club. The Justice Department has indicted three men in connection with an Iran-linked plot to assassinate President Trump, officials said Friday. Those arrested include New Yorkers Carlyle Rivera and Jonathon Rodholt. The Iranian suspect, Farhad Shakeri, remains at large and is believed to be in Iran.
