Flagstaff, Arizona – Travelers near Flagstaff should prepare for continued light rain and snow tonight into Christmas morning. Accumulation is expected to be minimal, but driving conditions could become slippery on major roadways, including I-40.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 40% chance of rain or snow after midnight tonight. Winds could gust up to 18 mph and temperatures could drop to a low of 28 degrees. Chances of rain will persist on Christmas morning, peaking at 30%, but taper off by late morning. Wind gusts up to 31 mph may reduce visibility at higher elevations.

No significant snow accumulation is expected, with forecasts estimating less than half an inch. However, motorists traveling in and around Flagstaff, especially along Interstate 40 and Route 89, are asked to allow extra travel time and drive carefully.

Flagstaff’s weather looks promising even after Christmas Day. Wednesday night will be mostly clear with a low near 19 degrees. Thursday will likely be sunny with a chance of showers. By the end of the week, the weather will improve significantly, with sunny skies and highs reaching 56 degrees by Saturday.
