Cibola girls tennis earns first team win of the season, beats Yuma 9-0

It was a clean sweep for the Lady Raiders, who are currently 1-3 on the season.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Cibola women's tennis (1-3) defeated Yuma (0-2) 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

It was a strong performance for the Lady Raiders, who got the strongest performances from seniors Brian Gonzalez and Adremi Duarte.

The two defeated Yuma juniors Dennis Lopez-Pina and Abigail Bowen in a doubles match, 8-2.

Gonzalez and Duarte also won singles matches, with Gonzalez defeating Pina 6-0 and Duarte defeating Krims sophomore Kylie Fialkowski 6-1.

Cibola's next matchup is Wednesday at home against Millennium.

Yuma will next be on the court Thursday when they play San Luis on the road.
