Sedona -Sedona, Arizona, pursues poet applicants for the first poet award winner program in Sedona. One senior and one junior poet served as an ambassador for two years to enhance literature education by promoting poetry appreciation in the community, and serving new literary art in the local school. It inspires the house and readers.
This announcement reflects the city council’s desire to support and continue to expand in the city in the city.
Both poet award winners are expected to fulfill the following obligations through their appointment.
- Give up to up to four public measurements a year.
- Create poetry for community events and ritual opportunities as requested.
- Provide poetry workshops to local schools.
- In response to the request, in addition to the community -bye -through project, focus on outreach and education, and pursue major literary projects.
- We cooperate with other poet award winner programs in Arizona.
The Senior Poet Prize winners receive a $ 2,000 scholarship in two years, and the junior poet winners receive scholarships to promote education. Both poets receive the costs for each DIEM for school outreach and workshops.
Selection process
This process starts with a work group composed of local literature colleagues, such as artistic and cultural specialists in Sedona and the executive director of community library Ricadona, reviewing all applications and selecting up to five finalists. 。 Later, these finalists will be performed and scored in four different events, including the moment of art at the city council on April 8, 2025. Mary Fisher Theater on April 12th. Community Library Licadona on April 16th. TLAQUEPAQUE ARTS & SHOPPING VILLAGE in late April. The best ranking applicants will be notified and appointed by the city council at the city council held in May.
Qualification
To get this appointment qualification, all applicants must be background check.
- The Sedona Oak Creek Unification School District is at least nine borders for at least nine years from the date of application, and you need to live there for at least six months. If the applicant of the Senior Poet award winner lives outside the border, they should show a strong connection with Sedona.
- Become a community or more literary poet.
- We are willing to make presentations throughout the Sedona area.
The Junior Poet Prize winners meet the above requirements, have recently graduated from the current students or Sedona or Verdevalley schools, and are 16-20 years old, and will not be able to cooperate closely with the winners.
