Yuma — The city’s next application of slurry, oil and chip seals will begin Wednesday, March 15, and will affect several major roadways in addition to several local neighborhoods. Work is scheduled to take about a month.
The city’s public works department administers a slurry seal program designed to add at least five years of service life to roadways where it is applied. Hours of operation are 7am to 5pm, with weekend work to minimize disruption to downtown.
A complete list of roads and parcels to preserve can be found here.
A slurry seal is a mixture of asphalt emulsion, water, sand and concrete. Provides a new cost-effective mounting surface.
