BULLHEAD CITY, AZ, March 31, 2023 – The City of Bullhead staff and contractors will work on the following projects throughout the city during the week of April 2nd.
- City public works staff will seal busy streets throughout the city overnight from Mojave Drive east of Highway 95 to Adobe Road to Lamar Road. Road closures for night-time slurry work begin at approximately 8:00 pm each night and are reopened by 5:00 am the following morning. City officials clear the muddy streets ahead of schedule and plug cracks. A complete slurry schedule is available at any time. www.bullheadcity.com/csmp.
- The crew will install new curbs and gutters along Arena Dr between Dorado Dr and Monte Vista Dr.
- Contractors continue to work on new amenities that will be added to the northern end of the community park. The entire project at the northern end of the community park is expected to be completed and open to the public by summer 2023.
- A contractor will drill an exploratory well just east of the IHOP on behalf of Bullhead City Utilities. Contractors are drilling wells at multiple locations around the city. This is the final test well for the project.
- Public works staff will work to transform the Bullhead Bell into a permanent structure in the community park over the next few months. The city plans to open Bullhead Bell as a riverside restaurant and event center in May 2023.
- A new playground at Ken Fovargue Park is currently under construction. Contractors will begin installing the drop zone surface on Monday. The city expects the project to be completed in the coming weeks.
A contractor will rehabilitate the 16-2 wastewater lift station on Clubhouse Drive west of Highway 95. The project requires the installation of panels to protect the wells from corrosive hydrogen sulfide gas.
The city recommends that only human waste, toilet paper, and gray water be flushed down the drain. All other waste must be disposed of in other ways so as not to damage city infrastructure.
Be careful when navigating the city work zone. Obey posted signs and traffic control devices.
