Civil Rights foot soldier Sheyann Webb-Christburg to be honored at Selma the Musical debut


Today at 6pm, Civil Rights Memorial Center (CRMC)a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the Alabama State Office, will present Selma, Alabama native Sheyan Webb-Christ in Selma the Musical: The Untold Stories at the Montgomery Performing Arts Center. Praise Berg.

“CRMC is proud to recognize this shining example of how young social justice advocates can make a lifelong difference.” Tafeni English Lev, director of SPLC's Alabama office. “The evening will come full circle as we honor Sheyan Webb-Christberg during the debut of the musical Selma.”

Known as a foot soldier in the civil rights movement, Webb-Christberg was the youngest participant in the historic Selma march that led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. She is also the co-author of “Selma, Road, Selma: Memories of Childhood in the Civil Rights Era,'' which details Webb Christberg's role in supporting the integration of all-white public schools.

Tickets for the musical “Selma: The Untold Stories” can be purchased at the MPAC Ticket Office or at: ticket master They are $20, $10, and $5.
