All American college baseball teams should follow this example!
Since President Donald Trump won the election in November, we have seen many athletes show blatant patriotism for the world’s biggest country. Like Florida’s Panthers superstar Matthew Tukachuk, we talked about how grateful they are to be Americans.
Well, the Clemson Tigers baseball team has raised the bar high to honor veterans in one of the coolest ways ever. (Related: Riley Gaines, Pro Women supporters absolutely fire up the NCAA with a powerful new XX-XY Athletics commercial)
When they reached midway through four innings in a recent Tigers game, the PA announcer demanded that the veterans in the crowd get up and get some recognition. While already cool in itself, Clemson has taken things to an incredible level.
In a new tradition Clemson began this year, they recognize Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” in their home game, with the whole team coming into the crowd and shaking the veterans.
We’ve finally seen this in a recent contest where the Tigers squared against North Carolina’s A&T.

Thank you Veterans! We are honored to pay tribute to your service at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. 🇺🇸🫡#clemsonfamily @coacherikbakich https://t.co/1l8e8aaytb pic.twitter.com/kzap8m0qmt

I would like to see this spread throughout college baseball. Domino effects you can say – it’s some incredible.
