CNN ran a live banner throughout anchor Dana Bash's exclusive pre-recorded interview with Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Waltz of Minnesota on Thursday.
Bash clarified at the start of the broadcast that the interview with Harris and Waltz was recorded earlier Thursday and was not broadcast live. It was Harris' first sit-down interview since announcing her 2024 presidential candidacy on July 21, and aired exclusively on CNN at 9 p.m., with Bash providing live commentary from the state of Georgia during the broadcast.
