Auburn University football coach Hugh Freeze has always been open about his faith, whether it be delivering Bible messages, personally baptizing one of his football players last year, or speaking at press conferences.

Freeze shared a message of trust in God on his Instagram account on Thursday.

“Today is just a reminder…we should not place our identity in our careers, our past, our marital history, our children, what people say about us, or what we've done for the church. The answers don't come from our community, our critics, or our culture. Only God should have authority over what we believe about ourselves. Our true identity is in God alone,” Freeze shared along with a photo of him and his wife Jill.
