Mobile County Sheriff's Office narcotics investigators were dispatched to Dauphin Island on Thursday after local police reported finding 25 kilograms of cocaine on the island's west side, with an estimated monetary value of about $450,000, authorities said.
Police carefully searched the beach where the cocaine was found for hours but no further quantities were found.

The Mobile County Sheriff's Office released a short statement asking for help from area residents.
“We will continue to monitor the area and ask that if pedestrians see anything suspicious or similar to the attached photo, they call MCSO immediately at 251-574-8633.”
This is not the first time that a large amount of cocaine has been found on the island's shoreline. Last year, Dauphin Island police Acquisition A large amount of illegal drugs was discovered after a pedestrian spotted a suspicious package washed up on the shore.
