He may have taken eight innings to finish his job, but Coconino ultimately got the results he wanted on Monday. They certainly made it a nail bitter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Flagstaff Eagles. The Panthers are beginning to get used to a really good result as their team scored 17 straights.
Kaitlyn Tso had a major impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing one run to be acquired, and only allowed two hits while hitting eight or more innings. She wasn’t just reliable. She has not given up on more than two walks in her 24 consecutive appearances. She also got 2-for-3 with two RBIs, stiff to the batter’s box.
In other batting news, Coconino ran Danica Khan and Destiny Villa into the wild. Khan went 3-3 on two runs and a stolen base, while Villa went 3-3 on stolen base, one run and one RBI. Kahn has been hot recently, posting at least one stolen bass in the last three times she played.
Coconino pushed the record 22-4 with a victory. The home victory was thanks to pitching efforts, and on average they only surrendered 0.9 runs in those games. As for Flagstaff, this is their second consecutive loss, keeping their seasonal record at 15-8-1.
Coconino has a chance to go back and forth with the Eagles. The pair’s next game is a rematch scheduled for Wednesday at 3:45pm.
