Coconino National Forest selling limited amount of Christmas tree permits

Phoenix (AZ Family) — It may seem a little early for some, but many Arizonans are ready to spread some Christmas cheer.

Don’t miss out, the Coconino National Forest has announced that it will begin selling select Christmas tree permits online on Friday, November 1st. You can start purchasing from 8am on November 14th.

A total of 1,300 permits will be made available to the public, with 400 designated for the Flagstaff Ranger District and 900 designated for the Mogollon Rim Ranger District, officials said. After purchase, the owner will be able to begin logging from November 15th to December 31st.

Before purchasing permits, customers must set up an account. recreation.gov to complete the transaction. Permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and will end as soon as they run out.
