If Coconino was feeling good right after last Friday’s 49-12 win over Mingus, he may have felt a little down in recent games. On Friday, the Coconino Panthers suffered a blowout loss to the Prescott Badgers, 35-28. The Panthers were given their own medicine in this game, as the Badgers didn’t seem to forget their loss the last time the teams met in October 2023.
It was another great night for Uriah Tenet. He finished with 167 yards and two touchdowns while gaining 9.3 yards per carry, and threw for 90 yards and one touchdown on just eight passes against Prescott. Those 167 rushing yards gave Tenet a new career high.
With this loss, Coconino ended his winning streak at three points and improved his record to five wins and four losses. With the win, Prescott improves its record to 8-1 and has won six straight games at home since last season.
Coconino is scheduled to host Flagstaff on Friday at 7 p.m. The game will feature two of the most powerful backs facing off in Fernando Ramirez and Jadon Wetzel. As for Prescott, he will take on Mingus on Friday at 7 p.m. Prescott will face Mingus at the right time, as Mingus is on a five-game losing streak.
