YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma Area Bicycle Coalition's annual Tour de Fields bike ride will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 in Welton.

Connecting cyclists of all ages, abilities and styles by choosing and navigating four routes of varying distances.

Welton Deputy Mayor Cecilia McCollough said about 200 riders are expected to participate, with cyclists from Yuma County, Arizona and all over the West Coast participating.

“Welton is located in the Welton Mohawk Valley, surrounded by mountains, and you'll be riding through fields labeled with all the plants that are planted.” McCollough explains. “These fields produce all kinds of agricultural products and are located within the Mohawk Irrigation and Drainage District, which means there is a lot of agriculture going on there.”

As you pass through each field, keep an eye out for customized signs that identify the crops being grown.

With 100, 66, 25, and 3 mile rides, you can choose from family-friendly rides.

Each category has different fees, and proceeds benefit the Mohawk Pioneer Museum in Welton.

If you have already registered, you can pick up your packet at the Butterfield Park Community Center, 10234 Dome St., on Friday night in Welton from 5pm to 8pm. Or you can arrive early tomorrow and pick up your packet.
