Mohren Comey Fired from Justice Department
Reports indicate that Mohren Comey, the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, was dismissed from the Justice Department on Wednesday.
Comey spent nearly a decade with a U.S. law firm, handling high-profile cases, including those involving the late Jeffrey Epstein and rapper Shawn “Diddy” Combs, at least prior to his passing. According to various sources, including Politico and the New York Times, she was let go from her position.
The reasons behind Comey’s termination are still unclear, but the news comes shortly after a setback in her case involving Combs. A New York judge had ruled on July 2 that Combs was not guilty of some of the most serious allegations, including sex trafficking.
In 2019, Comey was one of the lead prosecutors in the Epstein case, where the billionaire was found dead in his jail cell that same year.
Sources suggest that there might be ongoing criminal investigations involving her father and former CIA director John Brennan, related to possible misconduct with the Steele documents. The FBI may be considering their interactions as part of a “conspiracy,” which could broaden the scope of the investigation.
James Comey faced significant backlash in May after sharing an Instagram photo that was interpreted as threatening toward President Donald Trump. The former FBI director later deleted the image and reportedly had an interview with the U.S. Secret Service.
The Department of Justice has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding this matter.
