House Oversight Committee Votes to Issue Subpoenas
On Wednesday, members of the House Oversight Committee from both parties voted to summon a former high-ranking official in an unusual display of bipartisan support.
Oversight Chair James Comer, alongside California Rep. Robert Garcia, who has recently taken on a ranking role as a Democrat on the committee, agreed to issue subpoenas for a range of individuals including Bill and Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Robert Mueller, William Barr, Jeff Sessions, and Alberto Gonzales.
Garcia praised this collaboration, noting it as a significant bipartisan effort, and referred to the subpoena in a post on X, stating it was one of the first notable actions of the new committee structure.
In passing the subpoenas for Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, and others, we commend Representative Robert Garcia for fostering bipartisanship in this early stage of the Oversight Committee.

Additionally, Garcia urged Comer to press for the Department of Justice to provide documents related to Jeffrey Epstein without delay.
In a statement, Garcia referred to the committee’s moves as a triumph for transparency. “We’ve prepared subpoenas for these individuals and the Epstein Files, and they will be sent out soon,” he claimed. He emphasized that the committee’s efforts had successfully pushed for greater accountability from the DOJ regarding the Epstein case.
Americans have waited long enough for the Epstein Files. Our committee is ready to ensure these subpoenas are delivered promptly.

Garcia further asserted that it is crucial for Republicans to remain active in this investigation. “We are determined to keep pushing until the American people receive the truth they deserve,” he added.
In the aftermath, Democrats called for a vote to formally invite Comer to move forward with the subpoenas they discussed. Garcia celebrated this as a key moment for the Democratic agenda.
