Community supports T.R. Miller football player following spinal injury

Seven months after sustaining a serious neck injury in a Tr Miller High School football game, Ken Lett Jr. is still on the road to recovery.

The young athlete from Brewton suffered the injury back in September 2024, which resulted in surgery for a broken neck. His coach, Brent Hubbert, later assured everyone that Ken was doing well post-surgery and expressed gratitude for the support received. In a social media post, Hubbert mentioned how the prayers seemed to have made a difference, noting that Ken chose to approach each day with a victorious mindset.

This determination has inspired those close to him too. Over the weekend, family, friends, and community members gathered in Beatrice for a parade organized by Ken’s hometown church, the Faith Christian Center Cathedral. The event, dubbed “Please Ride With Ken,” served both as a fundraiser and a way to uplift high school athletes.

According to reports from WSFA 12, participants traveled through the town in golf carts, ATVs, and even on horseback. Supporters cheered along the route, offering donations to help with Ken’s ongoing physical therapy transportation costs, which are being managed on the go.

Ken led the parade before joining his family. His mother, Tonya Lett, expressed that this ongoing community support would motivate the family throughout his recovery journey.

While there’s still a long way to go, Ken remains committed to his healing process, expressing gratitude for the progress he’s made with faith and patience.

For those who couldn’t attend the parade but wish to contribute, donations to assist with Ken’s transportation costs can be made through various platforms:
