Conan O’Brien launched the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday with a smooth ginger aimed at “Emilia Perez” actor Cara Sofia Gascon.
O’Brien met his eye in person with a trans actor at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and openly ridiculed the controversy surrounding the recently unearthed, unearthed tweet. Gascon was effectively cancelled after nasty tweets containing Islamophobic references and nasty tweets containing commentary on George Floyd were widely shared on social media. The camera quickly panned to the actor who looked grossly offensive after being called out.

O’Brien is not finished yet.
He got caught up in the actor once more ironically saying, “Carla, if you’re going to tweet about Oscars, my name is Jimmy Kimmel.”
Gascón’s tweet triggered Netflix to keep him apart from the trance “Emilia Perez” star as the awards season began. As part of the film’s promotion, they reduced streaming images of Gascon scrubbing images from their Oscar campaign, initially promised to the actors for the benefit of travel and costumes.
