Police have charged a 28-year-old Michigan man with two counts of armed robbery after he got into a shootout with a concealed truck outside an apartment complex in early July.
Meyer D. Tedford has also been charged with illegally possessing a firearm as a felon and possessing a firearm while committing a felony, according to the Royal Oak Tribune. report Friday.
Authorities received multiple reports of shootings in the Loup Apartments parking lot on Thursday morning, according to the Tribune. Citing Lieutenant Marlon Benson of the Oak Park Department of Public Safety, the newspaper reported that two men were standing outside an apartment complex when Ted Ford rode into an SUV with a handgun.
“He just pounced on them and told them they had been robbed,” Benson said, according to the Tribune. “He said, ‘Give me all yours.'”

One of the targets reportedly had a valid handgun license and a concealed firearm. According to the Tribune, he defended himself against Ted Ford and a shootout ensued between the two. (Related: Concealed carry-on holder shoots dead 3 teenagers in alleged robbery attempt at gunpoint)
Tedford himself was injured, but neither of the alleged victims were injured, the paper reported. The Tribune reported that Tedford fled the scene on foot, but was quickly found by responding officers who followed the trail of blood.
Tedford was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds and is expected to make a full recovery, Benson said.
He appeared in court on Thursday and Judge Jamie Horowitz set his bond at $100,000 in cash. He plans to attend a probable cause conference on July 25, the Tribune reported.
