Construction Begins on the Summit Center Project for Northern Arizona Healthcare

Construction Begins at Central Flagstaff Summit Center

Healthcare officials in Northern Arizona have announced that construction is now underway at the Central Flagstaff Summit Center, located at 1485 N. Turquoise Drive. This project involves a complete interior remodeling and expansion of the facility, which is expected to span 18 months, with first cases anticipated around mid-2026.

Phase 1 Highlights

  • Expanded operating room and pain procedure room
  • Dedicated preparation and recovery spaces for the pain treatment room
  • New and upgraded sterilization processing divisions
  • Check-in and waiting areas for surgical procedures
  • A new wound clinic equipped with high-pressure chamber treatment
  • New space for all-care rehabilitation and sports medical physiotherapy
  • Enhanced physician clinic and exam capabilities
  • Increased parking capacity

The expansion plan includes adding 6,000 square feet to the existing building, with two additional phases set to follow between the fall of 2026 and spring 2028.

While construction is taking place, the facility is still operational for scheduled surgeries and services, allowing it to remain open throughout the process.

This initiative marks the beginning of NAH’s efforts to rethink the outpatient care previously envisioned at Fort Tuthill. It aims to centralize outpatient health services in response to community feedback. NAH officials have stated that environmental considerations are being integrated into the development to enhance sustainability and energy efficiency.

“We’re excited about the potential this project brings,” said a healthcare executive in Northern Arizona. The new services are designed to improve access for residents, supporting the needs of both patients and the community.
