Prism Systems Relocates Headquarters to Downtown Mobile
Prism Systems, a tech firm with a diverse global portfolio, has officially shifted its headquarters and lab operations to Downtown Mobile.
The company has set up shop at 857 Dauphin Street, a site previously occupied by Crown Hall.
As reported by the Mobile Chamber, this $6.4 million initiative is expected to create 52 well-paying jobs.
“Mobile has been central to our achievements,” remarked Keith Jones, CEO and owner of Prism Systems.
“By establishing deeper roots here, we’re not just looking to the city’s future; we’re also investing in the talent and creativity that make us who we are. Our new downtown presence can elevate our visibility while embracing a high-tech legacy.”
According to the company, after years of expanding in other locations, this new flagship office will help them draw in top talent to Mobile.
“To attract elite engineers from top universities, it’s about more than just offering an interesting position. They need to feel good about where they live, be able to easily access food and entertainment, and thrive in an innovative environment,” Jones added.
Under Jones’ guidance, the firm has widened its global presence with engineering offices in cities like Los Angeles, Orlando, Beijing, and Shanghai, and has also expanded its manufacturing sites in Washington County, Alabama.
Despite its international reach, the company remains committed to Mobile.
“Prism Systems has long been a significant player in our region’s tech and automation sectors,” commented Bradley Byrne, president and CEO of Mobile Chamber.
“Relocating their headquarters downtown will enhance our innovation economy, support high-paying jobs, and build upon our community’s technical momentum.”
Local city and county leaders have applauded the firm’s decision to reinvest in the community, contributing to downtown revitalization.
“Prism demonstrates that a variety of businesses can prosper here,” noted Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimson.
“Our area is known for advanced manufacturing, but Prism highlights the trend of technology-driven companies generating high-paying jobs in our community. This relocation is advantageous for the company, its workforce, and downtown Mobile—we’re thrilled about it.”
“The global operation of Prism Systems choosing to expand here is a testament to the capabilities of our local tech sector and workforce,” added Merceria Rudgood, chairman of the Mobile County Commission. “We’re proud to see businesses grow downtown, fostering nearly 100 well-paying jobs and crucially, retaining skilled talent here.”
Construction is projected to commence in September, with the new headquarters anticipated to open by April 2026.
