Cool and breezy rest of the week

Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY-TV) – The current storm system will bring weather changes and increased winds across the region.

The system also allows occasional winds during the afternoon and evening hours.

There is another series of wind bulletins issued for parts of Imperial County.

The first wind advisory is in effect until 5:00 am Wednesday. Southwest winds are 20-30 MPH, with gusts of up to 40 MPH expected.

A second wind warning will be in effect from 5:00 pm Wednesday to 5:00 am Thursday with southwesterly winds of 30-40 MPH and gusts up to 50 MPH expected.

Light to windy conditions will continue on Wednesday.

Dust flying is a problem in the Imperial Valley, so use extreme caution while behind the wheel.

Temperatures will gradually drop throughout the week, below normal for the remainder of the week, returning to seasonal temperatures by early next week.

Flood warning extended through 5pm Sunday, May 7th. This is because the water from the Painted Rock Dam continues to flow through Yuma County and down the Gila River.
