Globe Public Library encourages all community members to visit the library during National Library Week April 23-29 and explore all the materials it has to offer.

Most people are aware of the wealth of stories available in libraries, from picture books and large print to audiobooks and e-books. But there’s a lot more to the library’s story.

Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring the community together for entertainment, education and connection through book clubs, storytelling sessions, movie nights, craft classes, lectures and more. The Globe Public Library offers a wide variety of programs, classes and resources. These include Spice of the Month and the Spice Library, Culture Passes, Youth Advisory Committee and Literary Journeys, virtual journeys through narrative settings with walking goals, Mausritter role-playing games, summer reading, and more. We frequently add programs based on requests from people who come and participate in the library. It also collaborates on programs with AZ Health Zone, the University of Arizona Joint Extension GOWA and AZYP.

Libraries also play an important role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy, and support for job seekers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs. The Globe Public Library supports Globe, Arizona with services such as faxing, photocopying, technical assistance, online resources to assist with writing cover letters and resumes, and parent education classes. Her NARCAN, condoms, COVID tests, and feminine hygiene products from the Gila County Health and Emergency Services Department are also available at the Globe Public Library.

If you haven’t checked out the Globe Public Library lately, you’ve missed the full story. Stop by to celebrate with them during National Library Week, April 23-29. Join us in our online celebration by following the Globe Public Library on Facebook and Instagram and the hashtag #National Library Week.

First held in 1958, National Library Week is a national event hosted each April by the American Library Association and libraries of all kinds nationwide.
