Could Sugar Bowl Be Delayed Even Further After Terrorist Attack? Louisiana AG Liz Murrill Wants To Push It Back Again

Should I delay the sugar bowl for another 24 hours?

It’s always a difficult time when you have to deal with a tragedy, and it happened again after the terrorist attack in New Orleans, Louisiana claimed many lives. at least 15 people Wednesday morning. Several other people were injured in the chaos.

But Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill doesn’t think a 24-hour delay is enough and wants a 48-hour delay instead. This means the match will be held on Friday.

“It’s not my decision, but I would like it to be postponed for at least one more day,” Murrill said. “If they asked my opinion, I would tell them so.”

Now, while this whole situation is sad, we have to follow the facts here. Penn State, which will face the winner of Notre Dame and Georgia, has eight days off before advancing to the semifinal round. If the Fighting Irish and Bulldogs were postponed until Friday, they would only have five by comparison.

In other words, further delays would make the matchup completely unfair, and to be honest, we’re already creeping in that direction with the first matchup — there’s no way that’s going to happen.
