PHOENIX (Stacker) – The US aging population will grow from 15% in 2020 to over 20% in 2030.
The Census Bureau predicts that by 2034 there will be more seniors than children. Nationwide, her 52 million Americans are over the age of 65, and a quarter of them live in her three states of California, Florida and Texas, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. By comparison, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, Wyoming, and Alaska each have less than 150,000 elderly residents.

The counties are ranked with the highest percentage of residents over the age of 65, according to the 2020 five-year estimate.
