Carly Pearce’s Unexpected Hospital Visit

In a recent video, country music star Carly Pearce recounted an unusual incident that led her to the hospital, involving a glass ranch dressing bottle.

Pearce shared her experience on August 9 while preparing for makeup, sporting a heavily bandaged thumb after performing in Holmdel, New Jersey. “Doing my makeup with one hand,” she quipped. “Last night, I was about to have dinner after the show, so I went to open a glass bottle of ranch dressing,” she said.

“And when I opened it, the bottle snapped, and a shard of glass cut my thumb,” she explained.

Initially, she didn’t think the injury was too serious. However, Pearce soon realized the cut was quite deep and she required medical attention. “Suddenly, I thought ketchup was running down my hand, but it turned out to be blood,” she recalled.

There were paramedics at the show who checked her injury and confirmed that she would need stitches after examining if any glass remained in the wound.

Reflecting on the experience, Pearce described how getting to the emergency room wasn’t what she expected. “I didn’t know that riding in an ambulance means sitting on a stretcher, all strapped in,” she shared.

Fortunately, there was no glass in her thumb, but she had to undergo X-rays to address the intense pain and to prepare for the stitches.

Pearce also mentioned the challenges she faced in her daily activities post-accident. “I’ve been trying to figure out how to do things differently,” she said while putting on makeup. “My assistant even had to help me shave my left armpit because I couldn’t manage it myself.”

“It’s quite interesting figuring out how to do everyday tasks, like pulling up your pants after using the restroom,” she remarked.

The popular singer added that she usually holds the microphone in her dominant hand. As a light-hearted thought, she joked about adding some sparkle to her bandages while getting ready for her performance that evening at the California Orange County Fair.

Ultimately, Pearce concluded with a playful reminder: “The lesson here is to be careful when opening things.” She ended with a quirky metaphor, likening herself to “a bull in a china shop,” emphasizing the need for caution.
