A judge has dismissed 21 of the 22 counts brought against Sean “Diddy” Combs by Sarah Rivers, a contestant from “Band,” as of Thursday.
The dismissal order, which was signed by Judge Rakoff, directly addressed the accusations made by Rivers, which included serious allegations such as assault, forced labor, and sexual harassment, among others. It’s been mentioned in reports that she didn’t quite manage to back up her claims.
The court documents stated, “After thoroughly reviewing the written submissions of both parties and the extensive oral arguments presented on August 13, 2025, the court has dismissed all allegations against all defendants, except for those against Sean Combs.”
All 21 counts were dismissed on grounds of bias, meaning they can’t be revisited.
Diddy’s legal team commented on the situation, indicating that while some counts were dismissed, a decision about the remaining claims is still pending, as it hinges on a ruling from the Second Circuit regarding the timing of the claims.
Erica Wolf, representing Diddy, shared that the initial claims were deemed baseless and legally insufficient. She expressed satisfaction that the court seemed to agree, as it dismissed these claims without hesitation.
The dismissal led Diddy’s team to suggest that Rivers was seeking attention through sensational accusations. They claimed she tied Combs and numerous others into a supposed RICO conspiracy aimed at thwarting her pursuit of fame and success.
There was also mention that Rivers had borrowed from widely published complaints, introducing her case with a “trigger warning” about graphic content. Diddy’s team countered this by stating that the only dubious claims were actually about Rivers’ actions against others, which, they felt, gave little real value to her allegations.
Despite being cleared of more severe accusations, Diddy is still awaiting sentencing on lesser charges, with a date set for October 3.
