Crews working to protect infrastructure in Post Fire near Benson

According to the Arizona Forestry and Fire Administration, the crew is working to protect the infrastructure.

AZDFFM warns that fire activity may increase today. It has remained within its range overnight, but the internal pocket continues to burn.

The fire covers 1,200 acres and has a fire suppression rate of 5%.

According to ADOT, SR 90 has been reopened between Interstate 10 and SR 82, with one lane now available in both directions.

9:45pm update

The fire brigade stopped moving forward.

About 1,200 acres burned in wind-driven fires, but only 5% were extinguished.

SR 90 will reopen to residents only.

According to the CCSO, “GO notice has been lifted. SR 90 remains closed at this time. Approximately 200+ personnel have been assigned.”

of after fire The area reached 620 acres and jumped over State Route 90 between Interstate 10 and Sierra Vista. SR 90 is closed in both directions between Interstate 10 and State Route 82, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Kerchner Caverns State Park is closed after a power outage due to a fire.

Evacuation to the Grindstone Canyon and Highway 90 area now has “GO” status, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

The post-fighting crew includes 5 riot police, 12 engines, a large air tanker, a super-large air tanker, and a helicopter.

While the Wild Horse Fire is burning southeast of the Sierra Vista, another fire, the Post Fire, is burning on 10 acres about 11 miles southwest of Benson.

The Arizona Forestry and Fire Department reported on its Facebook page that the fire broke out around 1 p.m. and threatened several structures.

Large air tankers have been requested, but high winds are causing air support problems.
