Lily Allen has infuriated critics after admitting she had to return her dog to a shelter after it ate her passport.
The famous singer and actress revealed that she gave up her family pet. “Miss Me?” Podcast On Thursday, she told fans that she was upset because her dog had chewed up her passport, so she took her puppy, Mary, to the animal shelter. Presumably talking about her decision to get a pet with her husband, David Harbour, Allen said, “We actually already had a dog together, but it ate my passport, so I brought it home.” She explained what happened, and fans were quick to call her a “selfish, mean woman” on social media.

Allen, who is mother to 12-year-old daughter Ethel and 11-year-old daughter Marnie with ex-husband Sam Cooper, explained why she decided to give up her dogs.
“She ate all three of our passports,” she said.
“They took our visas [there]I can't tell you how much it cost to replace everything,” Allen said.
“Because of COVID, it was an absolute logistical nightmare.”

She continued: “My children’s father lives in the UK and I haven’t been able to let my children see their father for about four months. [or] It hasn’t even been five months because this damn dog ate my passport.”
Allen continued her rant about the dog, and the more she spoke the more of a rift she felt with the fan. She said she “just couldn't watch” the dog and that the puppy “ruined” her. [her] life.”
“It wasn't just the passport that she ate. She was a very badly behaved dog,” Allen said.
Her actions infuriated many netizens who derided her online, many of whom were uncomfortable with the comments made to her and many of whom warned her that it was her fault if she had left the passport within reach of the dog.
Dogs returned to shelters have a harder time finding new homes and are at higher risk of being euthanized.
Training a dog is simple: dogs aren't “badly behaved,” they're just “untrained” by the people who take care of them.
It's a sad story.
Shame on you, Lily Allen.
