Curtis Symphony Brings Talent to Yavapai College Stage

The Yavapai Symphony Association caps off the 2022-23 season with a bang on stage with legendary pianists, iconic composers and young talent. The Curtis Symphony Orchestra will guest with his pianist Yefim Bronfman on Tuesday, May 16th at 7pm at the Jim & Lindley Performing Arts Center in Prescott.

At the Curtis Symphony, every chair is a success story, as up-and-coming virtuosos from Philadelphia’s renowned Curtis Institute of Music occupy it. Together on their first tour of the western United States, the young musicians of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra blended their individual technical skills to create a sound of tremendous versatility and power. They will perform under the direction of conductor Osmo Vanska, who has led them on a triumphant tour of the East Coast and Europe.

In Prescott, Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 54 with special guest soloist Yefim Bronfman. Consistently praised by the press and critics for his excellent technique, passionate presence and lyricism, Yefim Bronfman is one of the few artists regularly sought after by festivals, orchestras, conductors and recitals. I’m a person. He is recognized as one of today’s most acclaimed and admired pianists.

The Curtis Symphony Orchestra concludes its concert and Yavapai Symphony season with Rimsky-Korsakov’s colorful and moving Scheherazade. The 1888 work was named after the legendary storyteller and was inspired by the illustrations in One Thousand and One Nights.

The Curtis Symphony Orchestra will perform on Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00 pm at the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center (1100 E. Sheldon Street) on the Prescott Campus of Yavapai College.
