Editor: Well, the time has come for city representatives to decide whether to renew their contract with Go Lake Havasu. Our mayor has filed a lawsuit against the organization for using derogatory language and making derogatory comments about him and we all need to support Mr. Sheehy’s efforts.
We, the people, have another situation to consider. The Director and CEO of Go Lake Havasu has made disparaging and disparaging comments towards residents of the City of Lake Havasu.
He did this on a public radio station and suffered no harm. If he was a city employee, he would have been fired for the words.
Go Lake Havasu is a private organization that collects taxpayers’ taxes, and the CEO collects a hefty salary. Their job is to create advertisements and promotions to attract tourists to Lake Havasu City.
This organization is no longer needed.
Funds spent on this organization could be better spent elsewhere. Now is the perfect time for the City Council to send a message to the organization and the CEO.
You cannot collect taxes from your community, claim to advertise and advertise your city, and at the same time call your citizens bigots.
