“If you want to predict the future, you must look into the past.”

Machiavelli wrote these words nearly 500 years ago in The Prince, perhaps the most astute work of political maneuvering ever written. With this lesson in mind, The Daily Caller now looks to November.

The Daily Caller's new documentary, “Rigged,” doesn't just spotlight all the outrageous things Democrats did in the 2020 election. We will diagnose the mistakes of 2020—where and how Republicans failed to counter Democratic plans—to make sure the same dirty tricks don't work in 2024.

The main lesson from 2020 is that Republicans must be aggressive. They can no longer sit back and trust that the system will deliver on its promises of fairness and accountability. Democrats have spent years trying to make sure the system doesn't work as it should and that the process is rigged to their advantage by an army of lawyers and activists. I've been working on it. Republicans must be similarly discerning if they are to swing the election law pendulum back toward the center.

“Rigged” shows how Republicans have closed some of the loopholes that Democrats weaponized in 2020, but there is still much work to do.

“In 2020, I served as general counsel for the Trump campaign,” attorney John Findlay explains on Rigged. “One of my primary responsibilities was to run the president's election day war room. I was responsible for having attorneys in every battleground state, where they were being reported in real time. I was able to get information from lawyers on the ground about the issues I was facing.”

Mr. Findlay details the many abuses that the Founding Fathers would no doubt be rolling over in their graves. Fraudulent election officials across the country often changed statutory procedures during elections. Nonpartisan observers were shut out of the process. Regulations regarding deadline requirements, ballot storage procedures, and how absentee ballots are counted have been eliminated. There was “a lot of disruption” on the ground in the 25 key states Findlay oversaw.

But the chaos was all part of the plan. By the time Republicans realized this, it was too late.

“If you challenge those ballots or inquire about those ballots and the results turn out to be different than what the campaign called for, it will appear that you are overturning the election. “It creates an assumption in the person who is called the winner at that point, and they have to overcome that assumption,” Findlay explains.

This is the main reason why the Republican legal challenge never got off the ground. “People always say that lawsuits were filed and nothing happened, but that doesn't mean all the lawsuits are procedurally cleared by judges,” said Hans von Spakovsky, director of the Heritage Foundation's Election Law Reform Initiative. This is because it was rejected for the following reasons.”

No one “cared about judging the reliability of witnesses or claims. They didn't do that.”

No one wanted to see an attempt to overturn an election.

Since 2020, some states have taken steps to tighten voter identification and deadline requirements. But the Democrats have already shown us what they intend to do in this election. Further preemptive legal action is needed to rein in corrupt officials and prevent the chaos of 2020 from repeating in November. You must object to the procedure before the vote is cast. Otherwise it will be too late.
