Dale Strong feels confident about the upcoming Space Command headquarters: ‘You don’t go in front of the President’

US Space Command Headquarters Relocation to Huntsville

US Representative Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) expressed confidence that former President Donald Trump will announce the transfer of the US Space Command headquarters to Huntsville soon.

There’s considerable anticipation that the newly confirmed US Air Force Secretary, Troy Mike, will formally move the Space Command Headquarters back to Huntsville.

Lawmakers are actively supporting the notion that Huntsville is a viable option for the new facility.

Strong mentioned in an interview with WVNN, “We’re not going to leave before the president. I know he definitely has a game plan.”

In 2023, President Joe Biden declared that the Space Command headquarters would stay in Colorado, even though just two years prior, the Air Force Secretary had identified Redstone Arsenal as a potential site.

Strong also spoke about a recent conversation with Trump at the White House, where the president indicated that the relocation was imminent, stating he was “moving to Alabama.”

“It was sort of a private moment,” Strong recalled. “He just looked over and said, ‘The Space Command is coming to Alabama. Soon… I’m ready to go vertically with this.’”

Other leaders are also weighing in on the potential move. US Senators Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) believe that Trump will make an announcement in the near future.

Strong added, “We think this will be within a week or two. He’s been having a lot of success lately, negotiating with Europe on trade. He’s busy right now at Andrews Air Force Base and out of the country. He’s doing his thing, and it’s time to announce this.”

“And now we are going to do what is worthy of national security.”
