Dale Strong reveals the establishment of the Golden Dome caucus in the U.S. House

Launch of the Golden Dome Caucus Announced by US Rep. Dale Strong

US Representative Dale Strong has unveiled the Golden Dome Caucus. This bipartisan effort aims to bolster US defense and enhance capabilities related to space, as stated by lawmakers.

Members of the caucus are tasked with advocating for policies and funding to ensure next-generation defense technologies are readily accessible.

“Given the current threats, we need swift and decisive action,” stated Strong, who represents Huntsville.

He added, “President Trump highlights the vital national requirements for advanced missile defense, and we must ensure this vision is realized. Establishing the House Golden Dome Caucus signifies a renewed commitment from Congress to this national security effort.”

Strong emphasized the significance of Northern Alabama in both past and present missile defense initiatives, asserting it will be instrumental for the Golden Dome’s success.

Rep. Jeff Crank from Colorado played a pivotal role in establishing the caucus.

Crank remarked, “The Golden Dome’s success hinges on meeting President Trump’s timeline. It’s crucial for our members and stakeholders to be well-informed and collaborate to transform missile defenses in our nation.”

Strong previously expressed his confidence in the district’s capability to spearhead such initiatives, noting, “Much of the technology developed in Huntsville’s Iron Dome and Redstone Arsenal has been essential. We’re aiming to show what our scientists and electromechanical engineers can achieve. I believe we will be an integral part of this endeavor.”

In late January, President Trump signed an executive order to initiate a comprehensive multi-layer missile defense system.

The order referenced Ronald Reagan’s efforts to create robust defenses against nuclear threats, which, despite technological progress, was ultimately halted without achieving its objectives. It also mentioned that since the US exited the anti-ballistic missile treaty in 2002, active missile defense strategies have only focused on addressing illegal national threats and the risk of accidental launches.

The House Caucus will collaborate with the Senate Golden Dome Caucus, led by Senator Tim Sheehee from Montana.
