Flagstaff, Arizona (September 23, 2024) – Dani Torres He was the only Lumberjack competing at the ITA U.S. Championships, which began competition last weekend. Only 128 players were invited to compete in singles in Tulsa, Oklahoma.


Torres' first match was against Marko Miladinovic of Baylor University. Miladinovic defeated Torres 6-4, 6-4. Torres' time in Tulsa was not over. He played in a repechage match against another Baylor player, Oscar Brostrom Poulsen. The match was played indoors due to weather. Brostrom Poulsen defeated Torres in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.


Torres and the rest of the men's tennis team will now turn their attention to the next tournament on the fall schedule, the Bedford Cup, which begins Sept. 27 and runs through Sept. 29.
